Tugas Softskill Bahasa Inggris (Have / Get Something Done)

THE CAUSATIVE FORM (HAVE/GET SOMETHING DONE)

Causative verb is a verb shows if the subject would not be responsible for that happened, but someone or something else that did it. Have something done with causative verb. In English, we will not be able to say such as "we do something", "we did something" or "we are going to do something" if in fact other people who work overload itu.Then,we can use words such as have something done, for  that fact his other people who do the job.R esearch from have something done itself a person who has done or provide a service to me. Have something done is passive sentences. Use have to get more informal into the passive form because it indicates things that are done. Have and Get are generally known as konstituent said that is categorized as into the verb (VERB) which has a meaning and gain.

So, to say that other people who work overload, for we and the structure that is to have something done:

1. HAVE

Have usually indicates that the person used his or her authority to obtain the result. We use causative have to show that you ask someone to do something. When we use “have”, we usually have power over somebody.

·         Active Form

The formula :  S + have(has/had) + someone + infinitive without “to”

For example :I will have Rudy paint my room tomorrow.

·         Passive Form

The formula : S + have + O + V3 (past participle)

For example : We have had our house repainted.

2. GET

Get refers to a situation in which the person persuaded rather than ordered someone to carry out an action or someone convinces another person to do something.

·         Active Form

The formula : S + get(gets/got) + someone + infinitive with “to”

For example : She gets her mother to cook some food.

·         Passive Form

The formula :   S + get + O + V3 (past participle)

For example : She gets her car fixed by a mechanic.

NOTE:Forms Have and get can be changed tenses to limitations, will, gutter, etc. without changing verb(verb) who followed them.The first one seen from Causative was the object that followed have, get. If objects that are the celestial bodies follow,so they could be confirmed Verb is in his third form (V3).  While if one percent/human, depending on which used, if Get would be used to infinitive if you Have to use Verb1

EXAMPLE

1.  I have my jacket cleaned at a laundry. 
2.  I have my house cleaned someone cleans my house for me.
3.    I.have him repair my mobile phone.
4.    I have my laptop repaired.
5.   I’m having a copy of the report sent to you.
6.  I get the suitcase opened.
7.  He got his house locked
8. The manager gets the report finished today

9. They get their taxes done every year by an accountant.
10. I get my car serviced every two months.

EXERCISE

1.     Ali and Halimah got us (stay / to stay) here a bit longer.
2.      I have my thesis (typed/ type) her proposal.
3.       I get my watch (repair).
4.       I got Firman (paint) my bedroom yesterday.
5.      I had my hair (cut) by a barber last week.
6.     The elevator needs repairing. The hotel needs to (get / fix).
7.      The shower doesn't work properly. The managers will  (have/repair).
8.      The toilet broke. Plumbers will (get/replace).
9.       The TV stopped working. The hotel will (have/send) to the electrician.
10.       The telephone is out of order. They will (get / reconnect) as soon as possible
